The talk was about: American Innovation


At 14h00 the 13th September 2013 Mr Spencer Cryder, Press Attaché from the U.S Embassy in Ha Noi, delivered a talk about American innovation in the seminar room of theVietnam- United States Studies Corner. Present at the talk were Ms Phan Thi Thu Nga, Director of the Learning Information Resource Center - University of Da Nang and 70 staff members, lecturers and students of the University of Da Nang.
To begin with, Mr Spencer ebulliently discussed with the audience the question: What are the greatest inventions in human history? Next, the speaker introduced to the participants a new invention of the year 2012, Gooogle glass. Google Glass displays information in a smartphone - like hands - free format that can communicate with the Internet via natural language voice commands. Besides Google glass, he introduced Google self - drive car, flying car,… and mentioned: How does the internet change the world? And the economy with free flow of money and ideas. In order to make the presentation more vivid, he showed video clips about some new inventions and SpaceX’s rocket that recently made it to and docked with the international space station. Participants posed many interesting questions: What policies does the U.S. have to motivate its people’s creativity? Why does the U.S have so many inventions? and so on…
