University of Évora, Portugal visisted and worked with the University of Danang



In the morning of March 23rd, 2015, the delegation from University of Évora, Portugal (UE) led by Dr. Sara Dimas Fernandes - Dean of Mathematics Department – School of Science and Technology – University of Évoravisited and worked with the University of Danang (UD). In the delegation there was also Dr. Mouhaydine Tlemçani –Director of Mechatronic Engineering Course - Physics Department – University of Évora. At UD’ side, there were Assoc. Prof. Doan Quang Vinh – Vice President of UD; Assoc. Prof. Phan Van Hoa – Dean of School of International Education – UD; MA. Ho Long Ngoc – Vice Director of International Cooperation Department – UD and other relevant officers.


In the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Doan Quang Vinh briefly introduced about framework of organization as well as training programs of all member universities of UD. Especially, Vice President Doan Quang Vinh also presented research cooperation programs that have been conducted between UD and other foreign universities.




It was the first time UD had chance to welcome and work with one of prestigious universities in Portugal. Therefore, Vice President Doan Quang Vinh hopes that through the meeting, UD will establish and promote the cooperation with UE in the fields of Mathematics, Mechatronics, Nursing. Engineering... as well as do co-research, exchange lecturers and students.


Responding to the question of senior representatives from UD about framework of organization and training program at UE, Dr. Sara Dimas Fernandes briefly introduced about UE. It is known that UE is one of public universities located in Évora city, Portugal. It is the second oldest university in the country, established in 1559. Besides, UE has 5 members universities: School of Arts, School of Social Science, School of Science and Technology, School of Nursing and Institute of Research and Advanced Training.




In addition, Dr. Sara Dimas Fernandes also introduced about the “National and International Mobility”. According to Dr. Sara Dimas Fernandes, every year UE receives hundreds of students from different universities in Europe and Asia to study and do scientific research. Especially, Dr. Sara Dimas Fernandesemphasized that UE is willing not only to cooperate and support UD’s lecturers and students in their study and research at UE but also receive UD’s lecturers, doctoral students to come to do research or for training in short-term or long-term courses.




At the end of the meeting, Dr. TS. Sara Dimas Fernandes expressed her thanks to UD for the warm welcome and hopes that cooperative programs in training and scientific research between the two universities will develop steadily.
