At the invitationof the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Truong Tan Sang, the Princess of Royal Thai Maha Chakri Sirindhorn started her official visit to Vietnam from May 5 to May8, 2015. In the framework of the trip, in the morning of May 06, 2015, the delegation from Royal Thai led by H.R.H Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visitedthe University of Science and Technology – the University of Danang and attended the 6th International Conference on Vetiver.
Prof.Dr. Le Kim Hung delivered speech at the meeting
Participating in the meeting, there were Prof.Dr. Tran Van Nam – President of the University of Danang, Prof.Dr. Le Kim Hung – Rector of the University of Science and Technology and other leaders of faculties and offices.
At the meeting, H.R.HPrincess and the delegation were introduced by Prof.Dr.Le Kim Hung about the excellentachievements of the University of Science and Technology in the past 40 years, especially the achievements of the international cooperation with the universities of Thailand in recent years. The Princess highly valued the successes that the university has achieved and also suggested some initiatives to further strengthen cooperation with Thai universities such as student exchange between universities; summer camp participation; academic exchange and scientific research experience exchange etc.
H.R.H Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn planted memorial tree at the University.
"The visit of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to Vietnam took place in the context that the strategic Partnership Vietnam - Thailand are developing well in many fields. The two countries are striving to increase bilateral trade to 15 billion USD by2020. Vietnam praised Thailand's efforts in coordinating the ASEAN – China relationship last time, contributing to the solidarity preservation and public voice of ASEAN in East Sea issue."
H.R.H Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was speaking at the Conference.
The Princess Sirindhorn was born in 1955, the third child of King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit. She is the second-in-line to the throne after crown prince. She earned Doctoral Degree in Educational Development at the University of Srinakharinwirot in 1986. She wasappointed as Executive Vice President of the Thai Red Cross Society, Dean of History Faculty, Chulachomklao Military Academy. She holds the rank of Major General of the Royal Thai Army, Honorary Admiral in the Royal Thai Navy and Honorary Deputy Marshal of Royal Air Force. "
