During the visit to Australia, after working with University of Queensland, the University of Danang (UD) delegation led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam, President of UD, had an official meeting with partners in Melbourne such as Monash University, La Trobe University and William Angliss Institute (WAI).
With aims to develop high quality programs relating to professional and leadership training, the delegation spent much of their time visiting the institute and discussing with management board of William Angliss Institute for further cooperation. WAI is a well-known institute in fields of excellent hospitality & tourism training not only in Australia but across Asia as well. Mr. Wayne Crosbie, Director of Angliss International, guided the delegation on the campus tour to visit modern and high standard classrooms and practice facility area. On this occasion, the delegation witnessed the impressive graduation ceremony for 450 students including 125 international students who have just finished training programs in Melbourne.
On the basis of former discussions in Danang and Vietnam-Australia educational cooperation conference in Hanoi along with this field visit, Assoc. Prof. Tran Van Nam, the President of the University of Danang and Mr. Nicholas Hunt , Board Member Chief Executive Officer of WAI reached and signed cooperative training agreement . Accordingly, two sides will offer on-the-job training, vocational training and professional training to upgrade high standard hospitality and service management that respond to the urgent needs in work force of Central’s tourism, hospitality and services industries.
Training Programs will be delivered in English and follow the accredited curricula of WAI. Accordingly, its degree and certificate will be granted by WAI based on program levels. The University of Danang-the University of Queensland English Language Institute (UD-UQ ELI) will undertake the English teaching to ensure English language input for learners. Experienced lecturers of WAI and UD will be in charge of professional teaching following the international programs of WAI. Within the course program, learners can do an internship at partners of WAI in Tourism, Hospitality and Services such as InterContinental, Hyatt etc. Candidates of these programs are students, employees and manager of hotel and resort who want to raise professional skills and capability. With the advantage of certificate and degree’s globally recognized value along with qualified English competency, graduates can be easily recruited at hotels and resorts of anywhere in the world. The graduates can transfer to university or post graduate level offshore.
The collaboration of UD and WAI in this professional training program is a remarkably effort of UD on the way to realize the educational mission in meeting social demands, contributing to human resources quality enhancement for the industrialization and modernization of the country.
