Prof. Hitoshi Yamada - Yokohama National University, Japan: “In my thinking, Danang Coastal City has been my second hometown”

Expressing his great emotion at the Ceremony of conferring honorary doctorate degree from UD, Prof. Hitoshi Yamada - Yokohama National University (YNU), Japan confided: “I would like to make a little comparison between Danang and Yokohama. As you know, not similar to Tokyo or Osaka, Yokohama is not the political center and there are no strong economic activities such as Osaka.

Danang has really been my hometown!

However, the specific characteristic of Yokohama only but no other place is the presence of the international community. YNU is home to students from many countries and regions! Do you think that this is quite similar to Da Nang City today?

The sea is the root of my hometown. I am not sensitive to have found many similarities with my coastal hometown of Fujisawa. Nature between the two cities is identical. And this time, Danang where I am awarded Honorary Doctorate Degree has really become my hometown. This is one of the happiest things that I am feeling in this second home.
