Leader of School of Medicine and Pharmacy participated in the 2nd Forum for Asian Clinical Engineering in Shanghai, China

 

In September 18th and 19th, 2016, Dr. Nguyen Dang Quoc Chan – Dean of School of Medicine and Pharmacy, Director of Medical Centre participated in the 2nd Forum for Asian Clinical Engineering Forum with topic “Traditional Medicine and the Developing Clinical Engineering in Asia” which was organized by Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai, China.

With the development of biomedical engineering, health care level and the improvement of medical equipment in the Asian countries are strongly developing. In this context, the 1st Forum for Asian Clinical Engineering with the topic "Facing the globalization era of Asian Clinical Engineering " was held at the international conference center of Osaka, Japan in May 2012.

The 2nd Forum this year, in collaboration with Jikei Osaka educational institution, Japan, was held at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai, China, with the participation of experts from leading Asian universities.

The Forum has clarified the integral relationship between the modernization of Traditional Medicine and the development of clinical techniques. The contents of how to use multidisciplinary equipment to develop traditional medicine, application of traditional medicine to clinical engineering have also been discussed. These promises will help develop consentaneously cooperation among Asian countries, and will promote traditional medicine in the world.

The Forum took place successfully. Besides, Dr. Nguyen Dang Quoc Chan also had the opportunity to interact with colleagues in Asia. Osaka University also committed to help the School of Medicine and Pharmacy in General Doctor training and promised to support the visit between the two sides in the near future.
