The 4IR and education

Rapid change of technology in the 4IR has given huge challenges to the education and training. In particular, education must give learners the basic skills, knowledge and the ability to think creatively. Instead of the traditional educational methods, we have to provide people with capability to adapt the challenges and requirements of work that have been changing constantly to avoid the risk of rejection. How to make proximity between training and employment, and between higher education and business? All force higher education sector to improve the future forecast, concentrate on training system and focus on value of the institution. Regarding training, students must be guided and taught how to master the society, to determine skills to be changed the most, to get to know the priority and determine the goal of priority, particularly the emotional intelligence.

In order to achieve the above, higher education autonomy is the key for the training institutions to prepare the necessary conditions and state of mind ready for the 4IR occurrence – said Prof. Dr. Pham Huy Dung.

With the reports and information presented by Prof. Dr. Pham Huy Dung, the UD’s leaders and researchers ebulliently expressed their opinions. According to Prof. Nguyen The Hung - Head of Water Resources Engineering Division, University of Science and Technology, UD, higher education should convey the passion and bravery that generate creativity for students.
