The University of Danang promoted the cooperation relationship with Institute of Information Security in postgraduate training on safety and information security



In the afternoon of December 28th, 2016, Prof. Harumichi Yuasa - Vice Director of Institute of Information Security (IISEC) visited and formally signed the MoU with the University of Danang (UD) to strengthen postgraduate training on informatics in general and safety and information security in particular.

Under the framework of project on human resource training, safety and information security of Vietnamese government by 2020, the human resource training responsibility is assigned to 08 key educational institutions including University of Science and Technology, UD.
In the meeting, Prof. Tran Van Nam presented that Information Technology (IT) is one of the training strengths of UD. UD has been continuing to further develop training programs in IT in general and information security in particular. Besides, UD not only has long-lasting relationship with well-known corporations such as Intel, Microsoft, etc but also signed the MoU with famous Japanese universities such as University of Tokyo, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST); as well as American Universities such as University of Washington, Portland State University (Oregon) in the field of IT, etc

Thanks to this MOU, UD will cooperate with IISEC to actively seek and implement cooperation and exchange activities, such as co-participating in the research projects; co-participating in higher education programs of the Vietnamese Government and other scholarships; exchanging academic articles and research; co-organizing science conferences, seminars; staff, lecturers, and students exchange. Moreover, in 2017, IISEC will grant full scholarship in doctoral training for MSc. Dang Duy Thang.

Established in 2004, IISEC is a university specializing in training information security. The training program of IISEC provides knowledge and skills in areas relating to information science, security technology, the management and operation of legal system and ethical information. Currently, IISEC has the cooperation relationship with a lot of leading research institutions such as: Graduate School of Information Science and Technology; The University of Tokyo; Graduate School of Science and Engineering - Chuo University; Graduate School of Global Information and Telecommunication Studies - Waseda University; National Institute of Informatics; Information Security Group, Royal Holloway - University of London, UK; Homeland Security Institute, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel; Faculty of Information Technology, University of Jyvaskyla, Finland

Training program of IISEC

IISEC also has the close relationship with a lot of business groups. Besides, IISEC conferred the certification of information security professionals for staff participating in the project funded by the Japanese Ministry of Education. In addition, IISEC also regularly holds a seminar on information security to create more opportunities for the public to take part in.

By the end of March, 2012, there were 208 students getting master degrees and 20 doctoral students getting PhD. Degree in IT from IISEC. These graduates have been working in many famous enterprises in the world and Japan. With this MoU, IISEC desires to bring more opportunities to study in information security for UD’s students.
