University of Economics – the University of Da Nang was honored to receive a donation of 01 billion VND for scholarship and 7,000 book titles from a Japanese Professor



In the morning of February 16th, University of Economics -  the University of Da Nang (DUE – UD) formally held a ceremony to receive a donation valued 01 billion VND for scholarship for  disadvantaged students from Prof. Yoshiaki Takahashi (Chuo University, Japan), the leading expert of Human Resource Sciences and Business Management in Japan. In addition, Prof. Dr. Takahashi has also donated 7,000 valuable book titles in Economics, Business Administration and Human Resource Sciences in Japanese and English which are extremely valuable supporting resources for teaching and research of academic staff and students of the University. These invaluable assets were earned and accumulated by Prof. Takahashi over his lifetime of teaching and research. In recognition of the enormous contributions of Prof. Dr. Yoshiaki Takahashi, in the same morning, the University of Da Nang organized a solemn ceremony to confer the title of Honorary Professor to Prof. Yoshiaki Takahashi.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan - Rector of DUE-UD shared that Prof. Dr. Takahashi was the one to lay the first foundation for academic cooperation between UD and Chuo University – Japan since 2000. Specifically, since 2013, after retirement, Prof. Dr. Takahashi had a desire to work as a volunteer in Vietnam, UD has officially invited him for teaching at DUE.

From this milestone, DUE-UD became the place of strong attachment of Prof. Takahashi with many important and significant contributions for the University. With the scientific prestige and diplomatic relationships in Japan, Prof. Dr. Takahashi has become a bridge connecting professors, researchers and scientists from Japan to UD for teaching and research while introducing enterprises of Japan to establish a relationship with UD in general and DUE in particular.

The amount of 01 billion VND that Prof. Takahashi donated to disadvantaged students is taken from the retirement pensions and insurance of Prof. Takahashi.

Assoc. Prof.Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan respectfully received symbolic certificate of amount of 1 billion VND from Prof. Dr. Takahashi. The University also officially announced the establishment of a scholarship fund named Prof. Dr. Yoshiaki Takahashi.

In the first round of scholarships awarded, five female students were selected and honored to directly receive scholarship from Prof. Dr. Takahashi.

Each scholarship is equivalent to one year's tuition fee and 10 million VND of subsistence per year. The total scholarships awarded worth 104 million VND.
