In the afternoon of February 21st, 2017, The University of Danang (UD) organized the signing ceremony of MoA with Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, Canada (UQTR).

According to the MoA, the cooperation activities between the two universities are as follows:
- Promote and organize the professor and researcher exchange participating in the teaching or research activities;
- Jointly seek grants for carrying out joint research projects;
- Share research results; co-organize the science conferences;
- Establish student exchange programs;
- Establish joint postgraduate programs at UD;
- Receive students according to 2+2 Program;
- Receive master students, fellows according to Vietnamese, Canadian or Quebec scholarships.
Being one of the 3 key universities and 5 national universities of Vietnam, UD is a regional multi-level, multi-disciplinary university training human resources to serve for the socio-economic development of Central Area and Western Highlands of Vietnam in particular and in the whole country in general.
During 40 years of establishment, there are tens of thousands of technological experts, economic managers, educational managers, educators and foreign language experts graduated from UD and its members. Besides, UD’s international cooperation activities have been strengthened and developed constantly.
In the end of August, 2016, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam – President of UD and Assoc. Prof. Vo Trung Hung – Director of Research and Development Department, UD paid a visit to Canada to work with famous universities such as McGill University, Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS) as well as participated in CITEF 2016 Conference organized by Association of Engineers and Technicians Universities of AUF. In this trip, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam and Prof. Dr. Daniel McMahon – President of UQTR signed the MoU to mark the strong relationship between the two universities (see more information here).
According to Ms. Catherine Parissier – Vice President of UQTR, Vietnam is an international partner which Canada always puts in a top priority. Therefore, the signing ceremony of MOA between the two sides was a great honor towards UQTR. Vice President of UQTR also presented that the educational system of UQTR has a lot of training majors such as engineering, social sciences and humanities, economics, health science and foreign languages which are suitable to cooperate with UD
Representatives from two universities
It is known that the educational system of UQTR is currently training 15,000 students, graduate students and researchers. During the meeting, the two sides focused on the post graduate training programs. According to Mr. Sylvain Benoit – Director of International and Recruitment Office, UQTR deployed 02 master programs in Hanoi city. In the upcoming time, these programs would be implemented at UD.
Information of introduction about UQTR
According to Ms. Catherine Parissier, one of the strengths of UQTR is health sciences. This is also one of contents that UD would like to develop in the near future. Regarding international cooperation, Mr. Sylvain Benoit shared that every year, UQTR receives about 500 international students to participate in short-term academic exchanges. In addition, Director Sylvain Benoit also emphasized that after signing this MOA, he is ready to share information relating to scholarship programs funded by Canadian Government in general and UQTR in particular for UD.
On this occasion, the delegation from UQTR also visited and worked with University of Science and Technology – UD and University of Economics – UD to discuss specific cooperation activities.
