Following the visit in November 2016, in the morning of June 26, 2017, representatives from the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS), USA, Prof. Jonathan GoldbergBelle, Senior Director, International Programs and Internships paid a working visit to the University of Da Nang (UD).
Prof. Doan Quang Vinh - Vice President of UD, leaders from International Cooperation, Quality Assurance, R&D, together with the staff in charge of international relations activities of the UD's member institutions warmly welcomed the delegation.
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Doan Quang Vinh said that UD has been cooperated effectively in joint training with many universities and colleges in the US; Many US’s economists have been worked and taught at UD. This is a solid foundation for UD and UIS to strengthen cooperation in education in the future.
Sharing with UD’s leaders and related officials, Prof. Jonathan emphasized that one of the contents of the cooperation between the two sides should be directed to online training in a number of majors in Economics, Data Analysis and Political Science because online training is the strength of UIS. In addition, majors in the field of water environment management or English language are also proposed to cooperate by Prof. Jonathan. In addition to the above-mentioned long-term training programs, UD and UIS can cooperate in training short-term programs, exchanging students or joint research – mentioned by representative of International Cooperation Department.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Huynh Loc, Head of Science, International Cooperation Office of University of Foreign Language Studies, UD proposed such possible cooperation between the two parties as the establishment of an online language center and organization of training for trainers. She expressed desire to receive foreign teachers to teach at the University.
Dr. Dang Duc Long – Head of International Cooperation of VN-UK shared information of 03 training fields of VN-UK including International Business Administration, Computer Science and Engineering and Biology Science. Through cooperation with UIS, Dr. Dang Duc Long proposed the development of transfer programs (2 + 2) for students of VN-UK, or exchange programs, short summer courses.
