The University of Danang fostered the cooperative relationship with Asia – Europe Universities



On July 27th and 28th, 2017, the senior leaders of the University of Danang (UD) welcomed and discussed many cooperation opportunities with representatives of universities and organizations in Asia and Europe.

Establish the relationship with the High School Association (HAS) in Sowon City, Gyeonggi Province, Korea.

In order to create a close relationship between UD and HAS in Sowon City, Gyeonggi Province, the delegation including principals of high schools, representatives of Korean enterprises operating at Danang city and the Korean Cultural and Educational Organization visited and worked with UD.

It is known that HAS consists of 54 high schools of Suwon City and was established to develop educational policies and training programs.

Sharing with Mr. Ro Gab Bin - Chairman of HAS, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam – President of UD said that every year, UD receives from 12,000 to 13,000 students. In recent years, Korean language training program is one of the strengths of University of Foreign Language Studies, UD. In addition, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam emphasized that UD has been cooperating with many universities, organizations and enterprises in the world, especially in Asia, UD has established the cooperation relationship with various universities in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Laos, etc..  Now, there are 600 international students studying at UD.

The meeting was also an opportunity for HAS to understand clearly about training programs for international students of UD. Moreover, Mr. Ro Gab Bin expressed his desire to send Korean students to participate in the short, medium and long term Vietnamese language courses of UD. Accordingly, their students could have enough Vietnamese language ability to apply for intensive courses at UD.

On this occasion, the two sides also signed the MoU to develop thejoint programs in the nearest future.

Establish the Master Program in Law

From July 31st to August 4th, lecturers from Faculty of Law, University of Economics, UD had a great opportunity to work and discuss with Prof. Andrea Lehn and Prof. Marion Scharmüller, Faculty of Law, University of Vienna, Austria (UV) through aSeminar "Introduction to International and European Criminal Law".

Previously, the two professors had a meeting with representatives of UD to discuss cooperative opportunities under the framework of Erasmus + program. In particular, this was an opportunity for both sides to discuss and implement the Master of Law between UD and UV in the upcoming time.

It is known that The University of Vienna (German: Universität Wien) is a public university located in Vienna, Austria. It was founded by Duke Rudolph IV in 1365 and is one of the oldest universities in the German-speaking world. With its long and rich history, the University of Vienna has developed into one of the biggest universities in Europe, and also one of the most renowned, especially in the Humanities. It is associated with 15 Nobel Prize winners and has been the academic home of a large number of figures both of historical and academic importance. The number of students of UV is about 94.000, in which there are 10.000 students of Faculty of Law.

Students at the university can select from 181 degree programs: 55 bachelor programs, 110 master programs, 3 diploma programs and 13 doctoral programs. The university offers many Masters’ programs in English.
