On 18th August, VNUK’s interim-rector, Dr. Huong attended a workshop in Ho Chi Minh City, about the “Implementation of the Internationalisation of Higher Education Strategy” organised by the British Council and MOET.
The workshop was designed to provide inputs for the draft of the Vietnam Internationalisation of Higher Education Strategy (IEHS) project by sharing UK experience and practice on implementing its internationalisation of higher education.
The guests included representatives from 10 Vietnamese universities and 2 UK universities which gave them an opportunity to network and suggest collaborative programmes in the Vietnam UK higher education network to support the implementation of the IHES.
The agenda included talks and discussions about the integration of the UK style of the higher education system with the Vietnamese higher education system and the challenges that can be faced also. Dr. Huong was invited to lead a discussion about the comparative research about the UK and Vietnam university governance since VNUK-UD and the University of Southampton have already completed a research study about the comparisons that can be found between the two institutions.
