"With outstanding achievements in science research, training and international cooperation, the University of Danang (UD) is truly a center of innovation and creation," said Ted Osius, the United States Ambassador to Vietnam during his working visit to UD in early September.
The United States Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius and The United States Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Mary Tarnowka visited the Maker Innovation Space, UD and shared information with UD students
During the meeting with the Ambassador and the delegation, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam, President of UD, emphasized that "UD has established and continued to consolidate and develop cooperative relationships withmany U.S. partners. We have signed a MoU to deploy the Advanced Programs in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and Embedded Systems with University of Washington and University of Portland, U.S.In the field of research, we have collaborated with University of Illinois to conduct a joint research project on soy milk in Quang Ngai province.”
“In addition, we also have promoted cooperation in many different projectswith Arizona State University (ASU). Recently, UD together with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and ASU launched a Maker Innovation Space for UD’s students located in the headquarter of UDon August 11, 2017 - an important component under the framework of ‘Building University-Industry Learning and Development through Innovation and Technology’ (BUILD- IT). It can be said that ASU and USAID are considered one of our major partners in coordinating and implementing a lot of projects including the Higher Engineering Education Alliance Program (HEEAP) and BUILD-IT project,” stated Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam. UD has also established relationships with various enterprises such as Boeing, Texas Tech Instruments, etc.
Especially, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam also shared that UD will re-open the American Corner at UD.

In this academic year 2017 – 2018, UD will receive Ms. Jessica Hong My Tran - Fullbright English Teaching Assistant from the United States to support English skills for lecturers and students of VNUK and School of Medicine and Pharmacy.
