The Launching Ceremony of Learning Express III at University of Science and Technology – The University of Danang from September 24th to October 5th, 2017

 

In the morning of September 25th, 2017, University of Science and Technology – The University of Danang (DUT-UD) organized the Launching Ceremony of Learning Express III for DUT-UD students and Singapore Polytechnic students at the Conference Hall, Learningand Communications Center.

Following the meaningful and successful journey of the two LeX projects held in September 2016 and March 2017, and TFI-SCALE project in 2017 with 3 weeks of studying and experiencing of DUT-UD students in Singapore and 2 weeks at DUT-UD, on September 25th, 2017, DUT-UD students welcomed Singapore Polytechnic delegation including 3 lecturers and 28 students to Vietnam to continue deploying the 3rd LeX project.

From September 24th to October 05th, 2017, students of both universities will study together, join the fieldtrip and cultural exchange. In addition, these students will be trained and practiced the CDIO design thinking skills as well as experienced the practical life in Danang traditional village.

From October 02nd to 05th, 2017, these students will join the fieldtrip at craft villages of Danang: Tuy Loan – Hoa Vang vegetable village and An Khe – Thanh Khe bamboo traditional village to observe and interview about the production process, difficulties and improvement needs of people here. From there, students will apply the theory of learning model "Design Thinking" together with teamwork skills, analysis skills to find out solutions for supporting people of craft villages in production process.

Hopefully, this will be an enjoyable experience for all students of the two universities. In addition, when interacting with the community, students will have a great opportunity to understand more about the customs, habits and lifestyles of people throughout this meaningful journey. Especially, during the 12 - day project, Singapore Polytechnic students will have fun and pleasant experiences with DUT-UD students to tighten the relationship between Vietnamese students and Singaporean students in general and DUT-UD and Singapore Polytechnic in particular.
