In the afternoon of October 17, 2017, H.E.Ted Yoho, U.S. Congressman, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific paid a courtesy visit to UD. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam – President of UD warmly welcomed the delegation.

At Innovation Maker Space of UD, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam expressed his pleasure and welcomed the U.S. Parliament delegation to UD. At this point, President of UD reaffirmed the close relationship between the United States and Vietnam in general as well as UD and U.S partners in particular in various fields, especially in education and science technology.
After listening to the introduction from President of UD, H.E. Ted Yoho highly appreciated the results in education and training of UD, especially the achievements in international cooperation between UD and many developed countries in the world including the United States.
It is known that one of the key partners of UD is Arizona State University, USA. Under the framework of BUILD-IT project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), UD in cooperation with Arizona State University hold conferences, workshops, and science and technology competitions for lecturers and students. In particular, this project has created increased opportunities for female lecturers and students to participate in scientific research. Innovation Maker Spaceis also the result of cooperation between UD and Arizona State University. This is the first innovation space for inventors in the Central Area and Western Highlands of Vietnam and the second space in the whole country.
At the meeting, the delegation shared and affirmed the important role of education. In particular, it proposed to strengthen educational cooperation between Vietnam and the United States, thereby promoting cultural and language exchange between the two countries.
Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam shared that UD always attaches a special importance to the relationships established with U.S. partners, especially U.S. universities and enterprises. On this occasion, President of UD expressed his desire to continue developing the cooperation relationship with the United States more deeply and comprehensively.
