From October 16 to 19, 2017, Assoc. Prof. Vo Trung Hung – Director of Research and Development Department, the University of Danang (UD) participated in SEAMEO INNOTECH Governing Board meeting as the Chairman of the Governing Board for a 3-year term (2017 -2019).
The SEAMEO INNOTECH Center is one of three regional centers of SEAMEO sponsored by the Government of Philippines and SEAMEO (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization). SEAMEO INNOTECH was established in January 1970 and the headquarters of the center were first located at the same headquarters of the SEAMEO Secretariat in Thailand. The headquarters of SEAMEO INNOTECH were then subsequently moved to Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand. Since July 1981, the permanent headquarters have been in the Philippines.
The Governing Board of SEAMEO INNOTECH has 13 members and includes representatives from 10 ASEAN member countries and Timor Leste. The Director of SEAMEO INNOTECH and the Director of the SEAMEO Secretariat are also members of the Board. The Governing Board is responsible for issuing policies and approving results and development orientations of SEAMEO INNOTECH to submit to superior SEAMEO. Members of Governing Board should be senior leaders in their educational institutions/ ministries/ of each country or international educators appointed by the Chairman of SEAMEO Governing Board according to the recommendation of Ministers of member countries. The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training introduced Assoc. Prof. Vo Trung Hung to SEAMEO INNOTECH and he was elected as Chairman of the Governing Board for the term of 2017-2019.

At the meetings, Director of SEAMEO INNOTECH shared all operation results from 2016-2017, the implementation of programs/ projects, the development/ improvement of infrastructure and equipment, the implementation of conferences/ seminars/ short-term training courses, and the results of the annual financial reports and other reports. In addition, the SEAMEO Director also reported on the proposed financial plan for the next three years (2017-2019), the work plan, and the improvement of the infrastructure. All members discussed and raised questions and comments in order to complete reports before submitting them to higher leaders.
