In the morning of November 6, 2017, APEC Voices of the Future (VOF) was officially launched at the University of Danang (UD).
VOF was hosted by the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, in coordination with the APEC National Secretariat 2017, and the International Organization Committee of VOF from November 6 to 10, 2017. VOFwas one ofthe activitiesunder the framework of the APECCEO Summit 2017 in Danang.

With the theme "Creating new motivation, working together for the future,"VOF aimed to: Update information about APEC goals and objectives to contribute to the friendship, solidarity, and cooperation among young generation in APEC economies; Enhance the effectiveness of the youth’s network in APEC economies to exchange ideas and knowledge in global issues as well as strengthen youth exchanges in APEC region; Promote the active and constructive role of youth in the areas in the process of building a common future of "peace, stability, prosperity and prosperity;"and Provide opportunities for young people in APEC economies to express their ideas and aspirations on youth issues to APEC leaders.

At the meeting, Mr. James Soh, Co-Chair of Leaders Council of APEC,emphasized that the topic "Creating new motivation, working together for the future" was perfectly suitable to the young generation in the Asia-Pacific region. “When young people develop their creativity andare nurtured in the right direction, they will bea motivatingforce for the future of each nation. The young leaders of the 21 member economies must recognize that we havethe same future, and our future depends on what we do today. When we strive to achieve a common goal, we will achieve the common prosperity and the growth of our nations. "

Attending the opening ceremony, Chairman of Danang People's Committee Huynh Duc Tho affirmed that: “The future of this world much depends on the young generation, intellectual property owners, abundant energy sources and unlimited creativity. The industrial revolution 4.0is rapidly impacting the world and creating tremendous growth opportunities but also challenges that require drastic changes in thinking and creativity of people.

After the opening ceremony, there was a plenary sessionentitled, "How to create a new motivation to jointly develop the common future among youth in the Asia-Pacific region" and dialogue sessions with the themes, "Promoting sustainability, creativity and integration among youth in the Asia-Pacific region" and "Enterprise, Innovation and Sustainability - Difficulties of start-ups and the digital age of the Asia Pacific region."

Delegates joining theceremony asked questions in the dialogue session
180 participants were divided into four groups to discuss: Youth’s contribution into APEC Vision towards 2020 and Future; Economic, financial and social integration; Human resources development in the digital age; andAssistant policy for start-up, small and medium enterprises. All these themes focused on two priorities: (i) Promoting sustainable, creative and inclusive growth; (ii) Young people actively contributing to create new motivation and future in the Asia-Pacific region.
In addition, delegates also attended a number of activities of the APEC Business Summit 2017, in dialogue with Dr. Noeleen Heyzer, Former Deputy Secretary general of the United Nations, Executive Director of Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific of the United Nations and several members of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC).
