Under the framework of cooperation between the University of Danang (UD) and University of Illinois, Springfield, USA (UIS) and following the Skype meeting on September 20, 2017, UD welcomed and worked with Dr. Jonathan R. GoldbergBelle, Senior Director of International Programs and Internships,UIS and Dr. Scott L. Day, Professor and Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership, UIS on November 3, 2017. At the meeting, MA. Ho Long Ngoc - Vice Director, International Cooperation Department, UD welcomed the delegation for visiting and working with UD and briefly introduced UD, the training programs and the strengths of UD that universities in USA can cooperate and develop.
Dr. Scott L. Day introduced the online courses which are currently popular at UIS and expressed his desire to cooperate with UD to implement several online training programs to facilitate in the learning process for students.
Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thanh Viet – Director of Quality Assurance Department, UD highly appreciated the online training programs of UIS and suggested some potential cooperation including: (1) Cooperate to deploy online courses to attract students; (2) Cooperate to accredit educational quality via Skype for online training programs; (3) Cooperate to find funding to implement online training projects; (3) Develop a short-term student exchange program at UD. In addition, MA. Ho Long Ngoc also expressed her determination and desire that University of Economics, UD and University of Foreign Language Studies, UD would soon discuss and deploy the detailed cooperation with UIS and also start receiving international students from UIS for short-term exchange atUD.
Dr. Jonathan R. GoldbergBelleacknowledged collaborative proposals in research and teaching of UD and expressed his willingness to cooperate in building training connection between UD and UIS, especially to implement online training programs in the future.
The UIS delegation also visited and worked with University of Economics, UD to discuss the signing of an Articulation Agreement 2 + 2 program in Business Administration, Lecturers and Students Exchange. Dr. Jonathan R. GoldbergBelle also hoped to deploy a “2 + 1 + 1 training program” (02 years at UEB, 1 year from UIS and 1 from UIS) in collaboration with University of Economics, UD.
Later that day, the UIS delegation continued to visit and work with leaders of University of Foreign Language Studies, UD with the aim of implementing the TESOL program, some activities in the National Foreign Language Project 2020, and the English language courses for students.
