In the afternoon of November 23, 2017, H.E. Nadav Eshcar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel in Vietnam visited and worked with the University of Danang (UD). Under the framework of the visit, H.E. Nadav Eshcar also had a talk show with students of University of Economics, UD (UE-UD).
To expand the cooperation relationship between UD and Israel
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - Vice President of UD shared that as one of the three key regional universities of Vietnam, UD has made a huge contribution into the development of science and technology in the Central area and Western Highlands of Vietnam. He also emphasized that in the development process, UD always attaches special attention to international cooperation with many organizations, enterprises, and foreign universities around the world. And UD is also striving to become a research-oriented university by 2020.
At the meeting, the Israeli Ambassador also shared that this was his first official visit to Danang. In the past years, the cooperation relationship between Danang and Israel has developed in many fields focusing on academic research and innovation. Inheriting the positive results fromthe predecessor, H.E. Nadav Eshcar said that he would continue to maintain and develop this long-lasting cooperation.
"Haifa, the third largest city of the State of Israel, has many similarities with Danang city. Haifa's strengths in electrics, electronics, hi-tech park and tourism service will create favorable conditions for the two cities to cooperate in three areas: training, economics and the development of high tech park," suggested the Ambassador.
In training cooperation, the ambassador shared that Haifa University is also a multi-level, multi-disciplinary university, in which there are some key majors such as tourism and medicine and pharmacy, which are similar to training programsof UD. Therefore, it will be possible to promote cooperation relationship between UD and Haifa University in particular and various universities in the region in general.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu hoped that the Ambassador would be the bridge to improve the relationship between UD and the Israeli universities and expressed his desire to cooperate with variousuniversities in Israel to open more opportunities for UD faculty and students to update and improve knowledge in Israel.
On this occasion, the Ambassador also sent an invitation to leaders of UD to visit Israel for exchanging more cooperation opportunities with Haifa University and other universities in the region as well as expanding the cooperation with enterprises.
Exchange with UE-UD students
With the theme "An Introduction of Israel and the path from a difficult beginning to a creative nation," the Ambassador had a small talk show to UE-UD students .
"As a young nation with 8.5 million people, Israel has nine scientific Nobel prizes. These scientists are trained at 8 educational institutions including Bar-Ilan University, Ben-Gurion University in Negev, Haifa University, Hebrew University, Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Tel Aviv Institute of Technology, Weizmann Academy of Sciences, Ariel University, Herzliya interdisciplinary training center and Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya"- said Ambassador.

Talking with UE-UD students, the Ambassador introduced Israeli important inventions and the entrepreneurial spirit of a "startup country."
Through the information shared by the Ambassador, UE-UD students were particularly interested in and asked some questions about the creative start-up competitions for students as well as opportunities to receive scholarships and advance knowledge at Haifa University and other Israeli universities.
