The Opening Ceremony of the 4th Vietnamese – Thai Youth Exchange Program



On June 10, 2012, the opening ceremony of the 4th Vietnamese – Thai Youth Exchange Program was  jointly held by the Ministry of Education and Trainning, Royal Thai Embassy in Vietnam, and the University of Danang at the University of Danang.

The year 2011 marked 35 years of diplomatic relation between Vietnam - Thailand. Many activities took place in two countries.

Youth exchange program is an annual activity organized at national level alternately in both Vietnam and Thailand. The program stems from the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Royal Thai Embassy in Vietnam, was first held in 2009.

During the program from 10 to 20 July, students of both countries would have many activities in Danang such as studying Vietnamese and Thai language, learning about culture of two countries,   visiting Champa Museum, Mable Mountain, Hoi An ancient town, Han market, watching traditional music, and playing traditional games, etc. Especially, students of two countries would visit and give presents to the victims of Agent Orange.

The aim of this program is to promote cultural exchange between the youth of the two countries, strengthen the relationship between Vietnamese people and Thai people, improve understanding and build lasting friendship, and help youth develop teamwork skill and leadership skill.

This is one of ASEAN content prepared for building a sustainable community in 2015.
