The University of Danang strengthens cooperation with leading European universities



On the days of January 05 – 11, 2018, the University of Danang (UD) has welcomed and worked with representatives of leading universities in Europe. As a result, it has established new relationships as well as promoted the signing of MOU between the parties.

Cooperation with Uppsala University, Sweden

On the afternoon of January 11, 2018, the delegation of Uppsala University in Sweden led by Mr. Kay Svensson, Deputy University Director - International and Ms. Anna Klara Lindeborg - Regional Representative Vietnam visited and worked with UD.

Meeting with Uppsala University

Uppsala University is internationally recognized as one of the top 100 universities in the world with over 40,000 students. Since being founded in 1477, the University has been awarded many prestigious Nobel Prizes in the fields of Philosophy, Medicine, Physics and Chemistry. Uppsala University offers over 40 international Master’s programs with almost 70 specializations, each designed to prepare highly employable and internationally qualified graduates. “Around 10% of students engage in research at Uppsala University” – shared Mr. Kay Svensson.

Through the introduction of Uppsala University and UD, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam – President of UD suggested some possibilities of cooperation between the two parties such as joint master and doctor training programs; lecturers and students exchange; co-apply in the Erasmus + project funded by the European Commission.

MA. Ho Long Ngoc, Vice Director of International Cooperation Department, said that UD has received over 70 international students every year to participate in student exchange programs at UD, including students from universities of Sweden through Kulturstudier Association.

Ms. Anna Klara said: “This is a very interesting program and will be in coordination with representatives of the International Cooperation Department of UD in the coming time to soon promote the cooperation program in the future”.

Through the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phuc Nguyen has proposed that the two sides could exchange some additional content such as joint training program with 2 + 2 or 3 + 1 form; staff and student exchange; and joint research projects.

Promotion of MOU signing between UD and Aix-Marseille University, France

On January 5 and January 8, 2018, UD welcomed the delegation of Aix-Marseille University, France including Prof. Marc Daniel – in charge of Pedagogy Cooperation and Prof. Alain Roux – in charge of International Affairs, Faculty of Economics and Management

The purpose of this working session was to promote the renewal of MOU between UD and Aix-Marseille University, which aims toward cooperation opportunities for student, faculty and staff exchanges in the near future. The meeting also discussed the possibility of participating as partners in the Erasmus + program to enhance opportunities for understanding, exchange and cooperation between the parties.
