On the afternoon of March 16, 2018, the University of Danang (UD) welcomed and worked with Institution of Professional Engineers Japan (IPEJ) to discuss about the organization process of the upcoming seminar on Urban Infrastructure Technology.
It is known that IPEJ was established in 1951 and is a non-profit organization under the control of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan. With more than 13,000 engineers and specialists in almost every field of science and technology, IPEJ is looking forward to working with UD to research and find solutions for a number of technical infrastructure issues which Da Nang city is facing. That is also the purpose of the seminar.
The meeting between UD and IPEJ
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof Ngo Van Duong –Vice President of UD shared that one of problems of Danang city is a weak ground and accordingly, they need to strengthen the foundation to prevent landslides. Currently, IPEJ is looking for technological exchange opportunities with relevant engineers and specialists to collaborate with Japanese companies to research urban technical infrastructure issues. Therefore, issue shared by Assoc.Prof. Ngo Van Duong are perfectly suited to the topics of the seminar.
With experiences of organizing many international workshops, UD will support and cooperate closely with IPEJ to organize thisseminar successfully. And this will be the basis for organizing larger seminars in the future. MA. Ho Ngoc Ngoc, Vice Director of International Cooperation Department, UD expressed that the workshop will open a lot of opportunities for research collaboration between the staff, lecturers and scientists of UD with leading experts from Japan.
Through the seminar, the relationship between local enterprises and students will be further developed, said Dr. Dao Ngoc The Luc, Deputy head of Office of Science, Technology and International Cooperation, University of Science and Technology, UD.
