On the morning of March 23rd, 2818, the Kushiro city Council and Business Federation, Japan visited and worked with the University of Danang (UD).
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - Vice President of UD gave a brief introduction about UD. DHD's Vice President said that DHD always attaches great importance to strategic cooperation with Japanese partners, focusing on the development of Nursing and General Sciences of the School of Medicine and Pharmacy in order to meet the peoples’s demand of healthcare in the city.
Overview of the meeting
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nakamura Takayuki, Chairman of SONG Company, said that the ever-increasing aging population has motivated Japan to build a long-term strategy to solve the future human resource problem. He also expressed his hope that the meeting would contribute to the development of the relationship between UD and Kushiro city’s universities.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Quoc Chan - Dean, School of Medicine and Pharmacy, UD said “since its inception, the School of Medicine and Pharmacy has actively built and partnered with many international organizations, schools and businesses including those in Japan. The meeting today will help the School receive more support and coordination from Japanese partners to better serve healthcare services for Danang people.”

“Many Vietnamese trainees are currently studying and working in the nursing industry in Japan. However, after returning to the country, these trainees could not find jobs suitable to their field of study. Therefore, I plan to open a nursing home in Vietnam, specifically in Danang, to create opportunities for Vietnamese trainees to return to work and serve their homeland and the country” – said Mr. Nakamura Takayuki.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu emphasized that the meeting would be the basis for enhancing the cooperation between UD and Kushiro city in which Mr. Nakamura Takayuki would be the bridge to promote research cooperation between UD and universities in Kushiro city.
In response to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Mr. Nakamura Takayuki stated, “I will try to coordinate and support the capital as well as training skills to speed up the construction of Vietnam-Japan Nursing Home in Danang.
On this occasion, Mr. Nakamura Takayuki offered 10 scholarships worth 10 million VND for disadvantaged high achieving students at UD.
