In the afternoon of May 2, 2018 the delegation led by Mr. Chang Bum, President of the Biotechnology Research Institute, Celltrion Group, Korea (CG) visited and worked with the University of Danang (UD).
Mr. Chang Shin Jae shared that CG is currently implementing a project to invest in the production of bio-pharmaceuticals and biosimilar drugs (biological equivalents) in Vietnam. Accordingly, CG would like to learn more about the investment environment, especially the training program and recruitment of human resources in biology, chemistry, mechanics, materials and Korean languages in Danang.
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Ngo Van Duong – Vice President of UD welcomed the delegation to UD and exchanged information relating to human resource training in these above fields.

It is known that Celltrion Group is the leading corporation producing bio-pharmaceuticals and biosimilar medicines in Korea. CG is renowned for its three biosimilar drugs that are effective in treating cancer and arthritis. Sharing with the delegation, on behalf of UD’sleader, Dr. Hoang Hai –Director of International Cooperation Department, UD expressed his impression of CG’s results and hoped to improve the cooperation relationship with CG to facilitate UD’s students opportunity to do internships at CG.
Dr. Dang Duc Long, Head of International Cooperation Office, VNUK-UD shared detailed information of students and lecturers of Faculty of Biotechnology and the laboratory system at University of Science and Technology-UD, University of Education-UD. Later that day, the delegation also visited the laboratories.
