With the development orientation to become a regional and international standard university, in 2017, the quality assurance mission of the University of Danang (UD) in general and UD member universities in particular had achieved a lot of outstanding results, in which University of Science and Technology, UD (DUT, UD) was recognized to achieve the quality standard accreditation by HCERES with a five-year period from June 2017 to June 2022.
Regarding the accreditation process of training program, besides the two Advanced Programs in Electronics - Telecommunication and Embedded Systems which have been recognized to meet the quality standard in accordance with AUN-QA standard in 2016 with the the highest points in Vietnam, in April 2018, 04 training programs including Electrical Engineering - Electronics, Electronics and Telecommunications, Petroleum Engineering and IT of DUT,UD continued to be accredited and evaluated in accordance with AUN-QA standard. Therefore, the total number of accredited training programs in accordance with AUN-QA standard is up to 6 programs.
Experts of Southeast Asian Universities Network participated in the external evaluation process of training programs in accordance with AUN - QA standard at DUT, UD in April 2018.
Verify the training quality to achieve the regional standard
In the educational quality assurance process, Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thanh Viet - Permanent Secretary of the Quality Assurance Council, Director of Quality Assurance Department, UD shared that in the upcoming time, several training programs including Architecture, Transport Construction Engineering, Construction Economics (DUT) and Physics Pedagogy (University of Education) will be assessed according to the AUN-QA standard (October, 2018).
In addition, several training programs such as Accounting and Business Administration have been approved to be accredited in accordance with the AUN-QA standard in 2019.
This process is aimed at achieving the goal that, by 2020, 10% programs of UD member universities will be externally evaluated by domestic or international accreditation organizations; 100% of international programs will be accredited; 50% of the training programs will be internally evaluated in the period of 2015-2020, and by 2025, DUT, UD will have at least 02 programs achieving the ABET standard, University of Economics will have at least 02 programs achieving the AACSB or FIBAA standard.
Develop to become the regional and international standard university
Through a lot of accreditation processes, UD has received many recommendations from international experts, thereby this will improve the accreditation quality of UD member universities as well as UD prestigious training programs.
In particular, the vision of UD member universities needs to show their own identity as well as the development strategies needs to be integrated, linked and supported in order to achieve that vision; At the same time, the statements must clearly express the key value and educational philosophy to UD staff, lecturers and students. In addition, the development strategy of UD and its member universities should focused on the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution.

Training activities, teaching methods, assessment activities must be aligned with the outcome standard, UD has to focus on the internationalization of training and combine training with enterprise as well as enhance soft skills for students and several supporting activities for learners.
Regarding human resource management, it would be necessary to set up the number of lecturers and staff for each year as well as confirm the need of training, fostering and development for staff, in which the staff in charge of teaching and research should be stratified.

Assoc. Prof. Dinh Thanh Viet proposed to establish the leading board in maintaining and improving the international ranking for UD and its member universities according to international standards (QS-ASIA + Webometrics) as well as establish the policy development teams, the website design team to update data and extracts according to the requirement of QS
Prof. Dr. Bui Van Ga - Former Vice Minister of Ministry of Education and Training, member of the Quality Assurance Council said that in order to achieve the above objectives, UD should have a campaign for accreditation mission. To reach the high ranking, UD needs to have a focused strategy. Particularly, UD should pay much attention to attract international lecturers and students, especially domestic lecturers and students as well as concentrate on building databases for learners.
Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam - Chairperson of the Quality assurance Council of UD suggested that, in the upcoming time UD should continue to receive recommendations and review, supplement shortcomings, promote the website for media and communication of each UD member university.
