As a part of the Strategic Human Resources Management for Southeast Asian Universities project (HR4ASIA), on July 9, 2018, the University of Danang (UD) organized the training short course for the delegation from Prince of Songkla University, Thailand (PSU).
Attending the training course, there were Ms. Nursahidah Useng – Assistant President of Human Resources Development and Organization Development, Ms. Supatra Siyapng – Director of General Administration, PSU nearly 20 PSU staff, lecturers.

In the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution, the trend of globalization and integration is posing many challenges in human resource training. Human resource capacity is considered as an important factor to create the competitive advantage of each university. Therefore, to optimize the mission and vision of each university, the development of human resource strategy plays a significant important role.
The purpose of the training is to improve knowledge and skills in strategic human resource management. Through the training course, PSU staffs and lecturers also listened to UD’s policies and activities, challenges in human resources management, the recruitment planning and staff training courses.

The training is also an opportunity to link the cooperation between UD with Thai universities in general and PSU in particular, thereby contributing to improve activities in students, lecturers exchange program and scientists mobility program.
UD is the largest regional university in the Central area and Western Highland of Vietnam, with the current training scale of 55.413 students, including 47.438 students, 3.178 master students, 183 doctoral students, 558 Lao students and hundreds of foreign students studying and joining the exchange programs. The total training programs are 25 PhD programs, 42 Master programs, 129 Undergraduate programs and 3-year training programs. In addition, UD has 14 research centers and 40 teaching research teams in science and technology.
The HR4ASIA Project is one of 147 projects selected by the European Communities. Project funding is EUR 810,985 and is being implemented currently in 3 years, from 2017 to 2019. The project is coordinated by UD and 12 universities / organizations.
The purpose of the project is to improve the quality of human resource management for Southeast Asian universities through the support of European universities to organize the shorten training courses on construction and deployment of human resources management, establishment of universities network to share experiences and information on human resources, etc.
