VNUK, UD supports contestants in Vietnam Youth for Social Innovation Challenge 2018 (VYSIC)



Vietnam Youth for Social Innovation Challenge 2018 (VYSIC), kicked off on April 9, 2018, is cooperated by the British Council, the Social Innovation and Startup Center of The National Economics University and The University of Northampton to increase creativity and inspire students to do business for society.

The contest attracts 103 application forms from all over the country and 20 of them are from startups. From the semi-finals, each team is assigned and supported by a mentor who is a founder of the start-up business, a social impact entrepreneur, the experts from business incubators or lecturers of innovation from Universities.

The Vietnam-UK Research and Training Institute, the University of Danang (VNUK, UD) is pleased to have Master Theses. Ngo Nguyen Bao Tran, who is also a lecturer in International Business and Management at VNUK, UD, accompanying the ABY team in this competition.

After a long period of work, ABY together with the project “Mobile Applications to support people with disabilities” has reached the top 5 excellent ideas of the Finals.


The application named “A2A” (Accessibility for All), which means bringing people closer together aims to assist people with disabilities in their daily lives, as well as access to public services in Da Nang through technology. By A2A, people with disabilities can connect and receive support from volunteers in the city of Danang, as well as create conditions for volunteers to connect with each other and form an effective community.

The project of the ABY team has clearly reflected the reality of society and presented a very new solution when applying modern technology. With the thorough guidance of Ms. Ngo Nguyen Bao Tran, hope ABY team will continue to develop the project as well as continue the dream of creating useful and diffuse values ​​to the community.


As a pioneer in innovative start-up training in Danang, over the past years, VNUK, UD has been actively deployed a range of activities, including start-up training, start-up training for lecturers and teaching start-up for students. Because start-up plays a very important role in growth and development of the economy, the involvement in contributing to the innovative localbusiness ecosystem is a proof of  VNUK,UD’s mission to promote innovationand socially responsibility to the community.
