On the morning of July 23rd, 2018, University of Science and Technology – The University of Danang (DUT-UD) in collaboration with University of Technology - National University of Ho Chi Minh City held the opening ceremony of Summer Program in Sensory Evaluation (SPISE) with the topic "Measuring the Multiple Faces of Consumers' Experience: Inter-Individual Differences in Sensory Evaluation".

The summer program is taken place from July 23rd to 28th, 2018 at UD with the participation of more than 20 scientists and lecturers from various universities in Vietnam, France and the United States.

The program is designed to promote and develop the sensory science in Southeast Asia and is also an opportunity for scientists and presenters to present their latest researches on consumer’s sensibility in solving an important issue of sensory science. It is the integration of inter-individual differences in sensory evaluation. This topic is timely because the inter-individual difference is the key to understand the consumer experiences, thereby it will be effective to create suitable products for consumers.

With this topic, this summer program also provides opportunities for participants from universities and enterprises to exchange ideas and experiences. In addition, under the framework of the program, a coaching session is also organized for graduate students and fellows to receive advices and recommendations on research projects from experts.

To closely follow the success of the previous programs, the new point of SPISE 2018 is comprised of two parallel discussion programs, a basic program with the theme "Sensory assessment practice" and an advanced program of measurement of inter-individual differences in the consumer experience.
