On the afternoon of November 30th, 2018, on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the National Day of Lao People's Democratic Republic (2/12 / 1975-2 /12/2018), the delegation from the University of Danang (UD) led byAssoc. Prof. Ngo Van Duong - Vice President of UD visited the Consulate General of Laosin Danang. Welcoming the delegation was Mr. Viengxay Phommachanh – Laotian Consul General.

On behalf of UD, Assoc. Prof. Ngo Van Duong gave congratulations to the leaders and staff of the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang on the occasion of the National Day of Lao People's Democratic Republic. "Currently, the number of Lao students studying at UD is nearly 860 students. In 2018 – 2019, UD receives 94 pre-university students, 70 undergraduate students and 41 postgraduate studentsfrom Lao. UD always creates the best conditions for Lao students studying at UD" said Assoc. Prof. Ngo Van Duong.
Assoc. Prof. Ngo Van Duong highly appreciated and gave his thanks to not only the leaders of the Lao Consulate General in Danang for smooth cooperation with UD in the management of Lao students and development of training human resources for Laos in the past years, but also the leaders of Laos for their trust and selection of UD as a reliable destination with a long lasting cooperation friendship between Vietnam and Laos in education and training. Vice President of UD hoped that in the upcoming time, the close relationship between the concerned units of the two countries, especially the Consul General of Laos in Danang and UD in particular and Danang city in general would continue to be maintained and further promoted.
On behalf of the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang, Mr. Viengxay Phommachanh sincerely thanked the leader of UD for itssupport in the process of construction, development and training high quality human resources for Laos. In addition, Mr. Vientiane Phommachanh also shared his suggestion to overcome the dificulties relating to visa issue, visa extension and stay extension of Lao students studying at UD. In the future, in order to create more favorable conditions for their students, the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang will actively work with the Vietnamese authorities to establish special preferential policies for granting a 5-year visa for Lao students studying in Danang city. In the friendly atmosphere between Vietnam and Laos, leaders of the two sides acknowledged all mentioned suggestions and agreed to continue cooperating and improving high quality training programs for Lao students at UD, thereby constantly tightening and strengthening the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
Previously, on November 20th, UD opened the dormitory at University of Economics, UD for international students (with 5 floors, 36 rooms) mainly serving for Lao students. The work was funded by Lao Governments and the Vietnamese Government.
