The University of Danang fostered the cooperation relationship with Australian universities

 

As a key regional university, the educational cooperation development is one of the strategic focuses of the University of Danang (UD). Over the past 20 years, UD always attaches special importance to develop the cooperation relationship with advanced, high qualified and prestigious universities, especially Australia partners. The working visit of UD’s leader and the Danang city’s leaders to Australia was a vivid evidence, contributing to enhance the understanding, connecting and deepening the traditional relationships between Vietnamese universities and Australian ones.

Over the past time, UD has developed traditional partnerships with many Australian prestigious universities such as: University of Queensland, La Trobe University, Australian National University, University of Adelaide, Queensland University of Technology, Swinburne University of Technology...

 

In the context of globalization and the digital era, UD and Australian universities share the same interest and pioneering efforts in innovation to develop "smart cities" in Danang and other cities in Vietnam as well as strongly commit to implement the " The National Science, Technology and Innovation Plan " in Australia.

 

The visit to Australia of Assoc. Prof. Le Quang Son - Vice President of UD and the leaders of Danang city led by Mr. Dang Viet Dung - Standing Vice Chairman of Danang People's Committee in the middle of August continued to confirm the long lasting cooperation relationship in education and higher education between the two sides. A lot of cooperation agreements with prestigious Australian universities have been signed and promoted such as: the tripartite cooperation agreement between the University of Danang, Danang City and University of Technology Sydney on high-quality human resources training and science and technology development. Accordingly, the two sides will coordinate to establish "Joint Technology and Innovation Research Center" in Danang. This is one of the initiatives to improve research quality, develop researchers and international cooperation projects to serve for the "smart city" strategy of Danang city.

 

UD and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) have also agreed to co- organize international scientific conferences in Danang as well as support the city in the field of high qualified human resources training. One of the priorities for cooperation in improving the training capacity and scientific research to solve interdisciplinary practical issues, contributing positively to Danang in the implementation process of Resolution No. 43 / NQ-TW is the cooperation in key fields of the 4.0 industrial revolution such as: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, Administration and Policy, Health Science and Sustainable Development ... in the content of agreement among UD, Danang City and MU.

 

At the same time, UD and Australian universities continue to affirm their commitments to promote more effective cooperation in training strengths that the two sides have the potential such as students and lecturers exchange activities; postgraduate joint training in the form of dual degrees; joint research cooperation in key international projects and joint organization and participation at international scientific conferences connecting Asia and Europe...

 

From 2016 up to now, international cooperation activities between Australian universities with UD’s member universities have been continuously happened actively and vibrantly. Lecturers and students of University of Economics, UD often have opportunities to study and do research with Prof. Dr. Darren Henry (La Trobe University). Prof. Darren Henry together with lecturers of Faculty of Finance, University of Economics, UD published 6 articles in ISI international magazines. In particular, Prof. Darren Henry cooperated with University of Economics, UD to implement an international joint training program (in the form of 2+2 program, the first 2 years studying at University of Economics University of Danang and the rest studying at Queensland University of Technology). In addition, University of Science and Technology, UD cooperated with MU to deploy the special high-quality program in IT...        

                                                        

This is really a new step in the smooth connection between the city government, universities, enterprises, scientists and experts for the substantive and effective development. The mentioned cooperation results also demonstrate the quality training and international prestige of the University of Danang in particular, Da Nang city in general in the process of sustainable integration with the region and the world.
