In the morning of October 4th, 2019, Assoc. Prof. Ngo Van Duong - Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) and Assoc. Prof. Le Quang Son - Vice President of UD welcomed and worked with the delegation from World Bank Vietnam (WB). The WB delegation included Mr. Ousmane Dione - Country Director and Ms. Keiko Inoue – Coordinator of the Human Development Program, Gender and Employment. Attending the meeting, there were also Dr. Cao Xuan Tuan – Director of Administration Department, UD and senior leaders of UD functional Departments (International Cooperation Department, Finance and Planning Department, Property Department and Project Preparation Department).
At the meeting, WB Country Director Ousmane Dione highly acknowledged and appreciated UD's efforts in developing ODA loan projects and hoped that this visit would be an opportunity for both sides to discuss and solve shortcomings in order to accelerate the project. Country Director Ousmane Dione emphasized "UD has received strong supports and commitment from the Government. Accordingly, we need to take advantage of this opportunity to accelerate the project schedule as soon as possible".
The WB delegation also shared difficulties in the process of approving the project’s documents and the commitment of support from the local leaders was very important for the project and affirmed that the WB committed to accompany and support UD. In addition, the WB leader emphasized the urgent to-do list of UD to request the consultancy company to actively solve a large amount of work according to the proposed plan and schedule

Assoc. Prof. Ngo Van Duong - Vice President of UD reported the results and related processes that UD has achieved. UD had worked with the consultancy company to accelerate the process of 1/2000 map; invite the experienced consultants to assess the environmental impacts and have enough environmental protection database relating to the project; assign the consultancy company to actively prepare a pre-feasibility study Assoc. Prof. Ngo Van Duong affirmed that during the project implementation, UD has received positive support from local leaders in the commitment of supporting the land clearance and resettlement arrangement for the project. On this occasion, UD's leaders would like to give special thanks to WB for always supporting and accompanying UD during the past time and hoped to continue receiving support and cooperation in the upcoming time.

Sharing with the WB delegation, Assoc. Prof. Le Quang Son - Vice President of UD highly appreciated the role of WB for the project as well as gave special thanks for the attention of WB for UD. Vice President Le Quang Son also affirmed that UD would make great efforts and determination to deploy items according to the project objectives t so that it could fulfill the requirements and procedures for receiving capital sources of the construction investment projects following the direction of the Government. In addition, in order to ensure the progress, UD's leaders expressed their desire to continue receiving support from WB, especially experiences in solving and overcoming difficulties under the process of the ODA project.
At the end of the meeting, UD affirmed its determination and commitment to complete the requirements and progress of the project with the highest quality. The WB delegation highly appreciated the results and efforts of UD to meet the requirements, criteria and deadlines, and reaffirmed that UD would receive the best technical support and facilitation from WB. The WB delegation would continue connecting and working with ministries and localities to support and accompany UD in the process of project implementation. The two sides had a common belief to achieve important goals of the UD’s project to receive the necessary funding together with Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
