Coventry University-UK successfully completed the evaluation of two international joint programs of the University of Economics-UD



At the end of September, the delegation of Coventry University - United Kingdom led by Dr. Andrew Turner - Vice Rector of Conventry University conducted an evaluation of the two international joint programs: International Business and International Tourism Management of the University of Economics (DUE) - The University of Danang (UD).

During the working process, the Evaluation Team met and interviewed the management officers, support staffs, lecturers, students and other stakeholders through which to have a scientific and objective basis to assess the training programs of the University of Economics – UD including: International Tourism Management and International Business. These are two programs that the two universities have agreed to deploy cooperation in joint training to provide opportunities for students to participate in international study programs at the University of Economics – UD, access to the world's premier advanced education of UK. The mission also conducted surveys, tours of campuses, lecture halls, libraries and facilities for training and scientific research, as well as evaluated the quality of training programs and curriculum of two specialties that the two sides will cooperate with in the coming time.

The strength of DUE is its location in the city of Da Nang - the center of the key economic region of Central - Highlands region as well as the whole country, on the East-West economic corridor, between world heritage sites such as Phong Nha Ke Bang Cave, Hue Imperial City, Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Holy land, etc., DUE - UD inherits many advantages to attract good students from all over the country. As a core member university of UD - the key regional University of Vietnam, one of the three major centers of education, training and scientific research in Vietnam, DUE was the first university in the Central Highlands region which has been allowed by the Government to implement the autonomy mechanism of universities since December 2017, enabled DUE to proactively implement the mission of training high-quality human resources, truly one of the training centers to train top managers in economic sectors, business administration, law, etc. leading all over the country. Experience in linking international training with prestigious universities such as Sunderland University, Towson University, etc. is the strength of DUE, a university with a long tradition of nearly 45 years of construction and development.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice Rector of the University of Economics - UD has been striving to become a center of training, research and knowledge transfer in the economic fields of the top universities in Vietnam, with an international reputation and nearly 12,000 students and graduate students, including many international students, lecturers and experts. DUE is currently training 27 majors at university level, 06 masters and 04 doctoral majors. More than 80% of the teaching staff are educated in the world's most advanced education (USA, UK, Australia, Japan, etc.). DUE promotes extensive international cooperation with universities, scientific and educational organizations, organizes many major international events and seminars; cooperates with international partners to train international quality affiliate programs, whereby, the degree of learners is recognized by prestigious universities in the world to enhance the level of internationalization to improve the quality in all aspects of the integration process, realizing the desire to study abroad to approach the advanced education level of students.

Initial evaluation at the Closing session of the evaluation of training programs is expected to be an international linkage of the University of Economics – UD, Dr. Andrew Turner acknowledged and appreciated the strengths, potentials and opportunities for cooperation of DUE, especially the two training programs that have been surveyed and evaluated objectively by the mission. Coventry University, UK expressed its trust and impression with the attention, investment in facilities and management of the leaders of Departments, Faculties and DUE, especially the capacity and enthusiasm of the faculty team, support staff and students. Coventry University proposed adding a number of necessary documents and textbooks to promote cooperation in deploying the teaching of two joint training programs of international cooperation between the two universities in September 2020. The leaders of the two universities believed and hoped that the cooperation of joint training programs would soon be effective, thereby contribute to strengthening the cooperation relationship of the two universities in particular and the friendly and cooperative relationship as a strategic partner between Vietnam and the United Kingdom in general, contribute to the process of education cooperation in Asia - Europe University.
