In the afternoon of October 29, Lotte Foundation Scholarship Fund (Lotte Group, Korea) held the 2nd Scholarship Award Ceremony in 2019 for 15 students who overcome difficulties and study well at 2 member universities of the University of Danang (UD) including University of Economics, University of Foreign Language Studies with a total value of 160 million VND.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Park Suk Won - General Director of Lotte Phu Khanh Duty Free Business Co., Ltd. highlighted the significance of Lotte Foundation Scholarship and the mission of the business: “We recognize that every business should always pay attention to as well as makes a pioneer effort to create human values for the community, in which, human development factors and the encouragement of talent development are the prerequisites in the construction of a sustainable socio-economic development”.

In the second Lotte Foundation Scholarship Award in 2019, UD has 15 students honored to receive scholarships (more than 10 million VND/ scholarship), of which the University of Economics - UD has 05 students and University of Foreign Language Studies - UD has 10 students.

“As a final year studentreceiving the Lotte Group scholarship, I myself have been motivated to continue to try my best in my studies and my life. I will use this scholarship to study and take the English Certificate (set a target of 6.5 - 7.0 IELTS) and a certificate of Informatics before graduation”- student Bui Thi Truc Dao majoring in Event and Festival Management, Faculty of Tourism, University of Economics – UD shared.
Overcoming many difficulties of a student from the remoted, namely Tam Xuan 1 - Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province to Da Nang city to study, Truc Dao achieved the good grade in many semesters. While studying and doing part-time jobs, Truc Dao is currently the secretary of the female CEO of Ariyana International Conference Palace (where many important summits of APEC Vietnam - 2017 Summit held), Truc Dao cherishes the dream of creating “products” that introduce the Quang Nam's culture after graduation. “My first priority is a Bai Choi program that helps visitors to feel the cultural identity of the southern central region ...” Truc Dao shared.

Speaking at the Scholarship Award Ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc - Rector of the University of Foreign Language Studies (UFL) - UD has acknowledged, appreciated and thanked the Lotte Group, Korea and the companion members of Lotte Foundation Scholarship Fund for their attention and valuable support for UD students in general and UFL's students in particular. “The students who are awarded the scholarships are all students who have overcome the difficulties of the circumstances, achieved the excellent academic and training results. With that significance, the scholarship has become a source of motivation for other students to strive and show their ability so that in the near future, they will become the diligent, highly qualified, steadfast and skilled personnel to contribute to the sustainable development of businesses and the country". The Lotte Foundation Scholarship Awarding Ceremony this year is an event in the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) series of activities committed by Lotte Korea. Since 2008, Lotte Foundation has started to grant scholarships to Vietnamese students. Over the past 10 years, Lotte Foundation Scholarship Fund has awarded 1,729 scholarships continuously, donated 25,000 books to the primary, secondary, high school and universities across Vietnam. In addition, the Fund has jointly built two school libraries with an estimated value of 18 billion VND.
