Danang International Institute of Technology (DNIIT) – the University of Danang organized the Launching Ceremony for the Toxin-Checker Project and the International Workshop on research and application of toxin testing technology in food

In the morning of November 14, 2019, the Launching Ceremony of Toxin-Checker Project and the International Workshop on "Toxin-Checker: Méthodologies et Techniques" solemnly organized at the University of Danang (UD). This was a major international scientific event that brought together scientists and researchers in fields related to the application of toxicology testing technology in food hosted by DNIIT – UD took place on November 14-15, 2019 at UD.

Overview of the Workshop

Attending the Project Launching  Ceremony, there were the presence of representative leaders and scientists from universities, research institutes and international scientific & educational organizations such as Ms. Le Thi Minh Hong - Representative of Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) in Vietnam, Vu Thi Bich Hau - Deputy Director of Science and Technology Department of Da Nang City, Prof. Le Thanh Nhan - Director of DNIIT - UD, representative of Côte d’Azur University, France, Dr. Kone Chaka - representative of LEAT Research Institute, CNRS, Republic of France ... On the side of UD's leaders, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of UD, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam - Former President of UD, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Van Minh - Vice Rector of University of Science and Education - UD, numerous lecturers, students, graduate students, postgraduate students and media agencies.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of UD delivered speech at the Workshop

At the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of UD gave an important speech, welcoming domestic and international delegates, scientists and experts to attend the Workshop. The Vice President of UD highly appreciated the DNIIT - UD of hosting the event and highlighted the significance of the technology application research project of DNIIT scientists in collaboration with international prestigious partners to apply new technology in quickly checking toxins in food to help control the quality of food safety. This was the opportunity for partners, project members to exchange, share experiences and publish research results, connect with scientists, organizations and businesses domestically and internationally to provide community with practical benefits. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son emphasized, “The Toxin Checker project is implemented with the leading role of DNIIT - UD in collaboration with partner members including Côte d 'Azur University – France to strengthen the food safety management of the Government, making a positive contribution to changing food consumption habits in the community, minimizing hazards related to dirty and toxic foods”.

Prof. Le Thanh Nhan – Director of DNIIT - UD gave a speech at the Workshop

Following the Launching Ceremony was the scientific discussion sessions with reports and presentations of project members, experts and scientists on issues related to the projects.

Toxin Checker Project hosted by DNIIT – UD

At the Project Launching Ceremony, representatives of universities, research institutes and enterprises signed a cooperation agreement on applied research and transfer of Toxin Checker Project with the cooperation of members including: Institute DNIIT - UD (Vietnam), Côte d 'Azur University (UCA - France), National University of Lao (NUOL) and Create Capital Vietnam Joint Stock Company. The Toxin Checker project was born with the support of the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) to research and apply a fast, contactless, non-destructive analysis method. It is the application of near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR) technology in combination with machine learning algorithms and big data processing, together with advances in microelectronics technology to detect chemical hazards, microbiology or physics in different foods, helping control food safety quality, track and trace food origin ... thereby contributing to enhancing quality control of food safety - one of the top concerns of the international community, especially of the Vietnamese people in recent years.
