The QS rankings use a uniform methodology framework, compiled using six measures: academic reputation (40%), employer reputation (10%), faculty / students (20%), the number of scientific citations per lecturer (20%), the percentage of international lecturers (5%), the proportion of international students (5%).
In addition to the QS Rankings, QS also assesses the quality of main university education through the type of Starring (US Stars). Universities participating in the star rating are ranked in from 1 to 5 stars. Participating in accreditation according to QS's rankings, universities must undergo strict evaluation of this organization on many standards, including: core standards, learning environment standards, expertise standards, advanced standards. Up to now, many prestigious universities in the world and Vietnam have participated in testing and starred “US Stars”.
