Science Conference and Technology Exhibition of University of Science and Technology - UD 2020: Spread the passion of research and creativity to students

 

The Science Research Conference and Technology Exhibition of the University of Science and Technology - UD (BKDN Techshow) has become a tradition, a product with a distinctive characteristic of the University compared to other Universities in the area. In 2020, the Conference brings a new color when there is a coordination and participation of Phan Chau Trinh High School.

Bui Van Ga, Prof.Dr. Tran Van Nam, Dr. Nguyen Quang Hung - Principal of Phan Chau Trinh High School and representatives of Departments, Boards and Faculties and a large number of students of the University and high school students.

The conference is within the framework of annual science and technology activities of the University of Science and Technology - UD, especially this year in close cooperation with the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Science and Technology and Phan Chau High School to strive to implement STEM integration into the general education curriculum, engage in scientific research activities for high school students.

Speaking at the Conference, Dr. Dang Viet Dung - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City highly appreciated the model of bringing science and technology to high schools and proposed the Department of Education and Training of the City to continue to coordinate and take the initiative in bringing models to many other high schools in the area. “This is a good model, a meaningful experience space for high school students. Where students have conditions to exchange and learn more experiences in scientific research from students, scientists, researchers, and models of new learning methods, learning with practice, not abstract, general "- Dr. Dang Viet Dung emphasized.

 In the 2019-2020 academic year, the university has implemented 269 projects of Student Research Scienc with the participation of 657 students from many different courses, not only the final year students, the student team in scientific research is getting younger with more students in fourth, third and second year participated. All faculties organized the Student Research Conference at the unit with a total of 187 reports in 14 professional sub-committees creating a series of exciting and widespread activities. Through the results of the Student Research Conference of the units and recommendations from the Sub-Committees, University of Science and Technology - UD has awarded 14 First Prizes, 15 Second Prizes, 18 Third Prizes, these are excellent researched papers that have been selected for publication in the Conference of Scientific Research Students in 2020.

06 excellent topics of science and application were selected for reporting at the plenary session of the Conference, including 04 topics of University of Science and Technology students: (1) Design and manufacture conveyor system for separating products evenly, (2) Studying biological activities and applying trial production of drinking water and cosmetics from oranges, (3) Building a facial recognition system for smart buildings – University of Science and Technology, (4) Application of Mike Urban model to evaluate storm water drainage systems in the eastern region of Son Tra, Da Nang City; and 02 topics of 02 groups of students of Phan Chau Trinh High School, which are: (5) Elevabot - Automatic stairway device, (6) Equipment for writing, drawing for people with disabilities and drawing for people hand disability uses speech.

Third Prize:Designing and manufacturing Hybrid LPG-electric injection vehicles based on Honda Lead, designing IoT Gateway for agriculture based on Lora technology.

 

Also within the framework of Science Conference and Technology Exhibition 2020, University of Science and Technology - UD has signed a cooperation agreement with Phan Chau Trinh High School "Deploying STEM into general education program, associating with research activities for high school students”.
