In the morning of January 9th, 2020, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the University of Danang (UD) chaired the meeting with Mr. Ahn Min Sik - New Korean Consulate General in Da Nang city. Attending the meeting were representatives of departments, divisions (International Cooperation, Student Affairs) of UD and other member universities, member units and affiliated units.

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of UD, congratulated Mr. Ahn Min Sik who has been appointed by the Korean Government to hold the position of Korean Consulate General in Da Nang city. The President of UD has introduced the highlights of UD as a regional center, a national focus, a center of education, training, scientific research and major international cooperation with 06 member universities and affiliationswhich have a long tradition of training and supplying the high quality of human resources for the Central region - Central Highlands as well as the whole country. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu emphasized that UD always attaches importance to cooperate with Korean universities and highly appreciates the significance of the visit of the new Korean Consulate General in Da Nang which will enable to promote and strengthen the relationship, cooperation and friendship between the two countries in general and between UD and Korean universities, Korean partners in particular.

Talking with the UD's leader, Mr. Ahn Min Sik - New Korean Consulate General in Da Nang city expressed his pleasure to visit and work with UD. The new Korean Consulate General of Da Nang shared that in the country's development strategy, South Korea paid special attention to and invested in education, of which Vietnam is the largest Korean partner in the ASEAN region. The Consul General expressed his desire that the two sides continue to nurture the friendly relation, enhance the exchange opportunities, develop the cooperation in training, scientific research and cultural exchange, and develop the potentials, strength to cooperate in training the human resources in tourism when Da Nang city is currently a "destination" attracting many Korean tourists.

At the end of the meeting, in the atmosphere of understanding and trust, both sides' leaders noted and agreed on the common directions of cooperation to promote the comprehensive relationship between UD and Korean universities, businesses and Korean partners. The Korean Consulate General in Da Nang affirmed his support and willingness to act as a "bridge" to support the cohesion, expansion and enhancement of the relationship between UD at Korean universities, organizations and businesses in areas that contribute to the development of Da Nang city as well as the needs and common interests in the process of international integration.
