Developing cooperation between the University of Danang and Cambridge English Assessment, the UK

 

Recently, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the University of Danang (UD) chaired the meeting with representatives of the Cambridge English Assessment, the UK (CEA). On the partner side, there were Mr. Nguyen Le Nam - Director of Edubase Company (CEA Authorized Office); Ms. Mai Nguyen Tra Mi - Deputy Director of Edubase Company; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Van Hoa-former Rector of the University of Foreign Language Studies - UD.

 

Overview of the meeting

 

Attendees in the meeting were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of UD; Representative leaders of the functional departments (Academic Affairs, Quality Assurance, International Cooperation, Planning - Finance). At the meeting, the two sides discussed the implementation of key cooperation activities towards establishing aninternational standard English training and testing center at UD. Assigned departments would coordinate with CEA, Cambridge University to organize testing and issue international certificates for students. Participants exchanged and proposed feasible solutions to promote the potential and advantages of each party to provide cadres and students with best opportunities to conveniently study and take tests at international English standards by a leading prestigious University such as Cambridge University.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – President of UD, highly evaluated the cooperation between the two sides to improve the quality of English training and testing according to international standards for cadres and students to meet the requirements of integration and higher education internationalization. The President also acknowledged the recommendations of the partner, entrusted the relevant units to continue research and coordination to realize the common directions of the two sides' leaders.

According to the proposal, CEA is expected to take on the expertise, arrange experts and lecturers with international experience to make a "difference" and improve the quality of training ... UD will be responsible for facilities, equipment and human resources especially in enrollment coordination in training courses for different customers including officials, lecturers and  students), training lecturers meeting  international standards issued by Cambridge University Certificate to be able to participate in teaching.

Earlier, in October 2019, UD's leaders agreed on a common cooperation direction with CEA Director Francesca Woodward on her working visit to UD.
