The University of Danang attended the Online Conference on higher education enrollment 2020


On the morning of May 8, 2020, Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) organized an online conference on higher education enrollment 2020 under the chairmanship of Minister Phung Xuan Nha, co-chairmanship with Minister in Hanoi was Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc. On the side of the University of Danang (UD), there were Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – President of UD, Assoc. Prof. Le Thanh Bac – Vice President of UD and senior representatives of UD’s member universities and affiliated units.

At the Conference, Minister Phung Xuan Nha clarified the purpose of this online conference to unify the implementation of the Admission Regulation 2020, thereby organizing the enrollment process 2020 when Education and Training sector was heavily affected by Covid-19. MinisterPhung Xuan Nha noted that the higher education institutions and localities had cooperated closely with authorities to operate the academic year in accordance with the practical situation, flexibly deploy the mode of distance education and training.

 Minister Phung Xuan Nha also emphasized that online training was not only a temporary solution, but also an important method for higher education and general education. The Ministry would review and issue official documents and regulations on online education, distance learning, as well as connect with enterprises to support services for schools. The Minister highly appreciated schools for their social responsibility, research, manufacture and many science and technology products contributing to the prevention of Covid-19 (test kits, robots, school safety criteria …)

Regarding the high school graduation exam, the Minister shared that MOET had consulted with the ministries; the Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children of the National Assembly to come up an appropriate high school examination with a renovation itinerary and suitability in the epidemic context. Regarding enrollment, the Minister emphasized that schools had enough conditions to organize their own admissions as well as ensure the existing autonomy itinerary. At the same time, it had to be fair, transparent and equal among schools and State had to manage schools to orient, ensure quality and stability in the educational system.

The Enrollment could be relied on transcript results but also need a high school graduation exam to assess the wide-ranging quality of 12 high-school years of students....

At the conference, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thu Thuy-Acting Director of Higher Education Department, MOET reported the enrollment task 2019 and the enrollment orientation 2020. In addition, Acting Director Nguyen Thu Thuy also shared that MOET continued to maintain the same enrollment regulations as the previous year. All schools could enroll many times a year as well as had to have their autonomy and took responsibility to explain for admission process.


Delegates attending the Conference agreed with the guiding spirit for this year's enrollment and proposed several ideas focusing on ensuring the inspection and testing in organizing high school graduation examination.
