The International Cooperation Department – the UD kindly introduces the full text of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son’s congratulatory remark:
“Dear Prof. Dr. Suchatvee Suwansawat, President of the KMITL, and all of your staff, colleagues and students,
On behalf of the University of Danang (Vietnam), I take this pleasure in heartfeltly congratulating leaders, academic staff, students and alumni of the KMITL on the occasion of its 60th anniversary of establishment.
I think you will agree with me that, in an average human being’s lifespan, 60 years usually marks a time when a person begins to slow down. However, from what I have observed as well as from your spirit “Go beyond the limit”, the KMITL is just 60 years young, and dreaming of a brighter future, energetically moving forward, building your distinguished history of academic and institutional achievements.
Currently, the KMITL is one of the most prestigious technical universities in Thailand, and is widely recognized as a center of academic excellence in the region. For the fact that any outstanding educational institutions can not be built overnight, I know that during the past 60 years, the KMITL’s position was secured through the hard work and selfless devotion of many people.
We are in the era when universities are facing highly challenging demands. One of the most important of these is to become more internationalized, more open to trends beyond our borders, and more proactive to grasp the opportunities offered by establishing close relationship with partners around the world. In this regard, I am delighted as my institution, the University of Danang, and the KMITL have been working together since 1999, especially signed the memorandum of understanding (MOU) in 2015.
The University of Danang is ranked in the top 401-450 of Asia’s best universities. Being a multidisciplinary university and the biggest one in Central Vietnam, UD is entrusted by the Government to be one of the three leading higher education centers of Vietnam. We now have 13 member universities, colleges and affiliations, about 2,500 staff and lecturers, 60,000 students. Especially, the University of Danang has so far established relationships and signed 350 MOUs with more than 250 international prestigious partners.
It is my sincere hope that we will work together even more closely in the following years for the benefits of not only our two universities, but for the good of the neighboring countries of Vietnam and Thailand. Specifically, the two sides can boost the cooperation in the areas of mutual strength and interest such as: joint research projects, student and staff exchange, joint training programs etc.
If there was no Covid-19 pandemic, I would visit your campus in Bangkok to attend the establishment anniversary. However, this special moment of lockdown reminds us how we are close in mind and heart. Before finishing my video, I would like to once again express my very best wishes for continued successes of the KMITL.”
