The University of Danang hosted the V2WORK Sustainable Network Workshop within the framework of the Erasmus + V2WORK Project funded by the European Commission



In the framework of the Erasmus + V2WORK (“Strengthening the Vietnamese Higher Education System to improve graduates’ employability and entrepreneurship skills) Project funded by the European Commission, the V2WORK Project Steering Committee of the University of Danang (UD) hosted the V2WORK Sustainable Network Workshop at UD University of Technology and Education (UD-UTE) from June 30 to July 3, 2020.

The Workshop was attended by representatives of the Political Education and Student Affairs Department, the Ministry of Education and Training, the leadership representatives of 08 Vietnamese universities (Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Industrial University of Vinh, the University of Danang, Nha Trang Universiy, Tay Nguyen University, VNUHCM University of Science and Social Humanities, Thu Dau Mot University, Tra Vinh University) participating in the project, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Youth Vision Talent Solutions Limited Company… (AIESEC). Due to Covid-19, the European partners (University of Alicante, University of Coimbra, FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences) were not able to travel to Vietnam. The workshop was run through a combination of online sessions with the European partners through video-conferencing with Vietnam via the platform LIVESTORM and face-to-face working sessions among the Vietnamese partners. The objective of the Workshop was to establish a collaborative environment in which the V2WORK partners can work together to define and create a network that would support future collaboration between Vietnamese universities regarding student and graduate employability and entrepreneurship.

At the Workshop, European partners shared and introduced some typical network management and construction models in Europe as well as clarified the added values ​​brought about by the formation and development of sustainable network. Vietnamese universities also discussed and agreed to form a V2WORK sustainable network (VEES-Net, Vietnam Employability and entrepreneurship support network) with vision and mission to bring job opportunities and entrepreneurship while promoting learners' chances of success for students through employment and start-up support activities.

The Workshop agreed on VEES-Net's work plan in the coming time, including: Sharing information among the network members, related to employability and entrepreneurship; Building a common database among HEIs in the network; Organizing training courses,  seminars, workshops, forums, exchange activities, job fairs, to improve employability and entrepreneurship skills for learners through digital platforms or presential; ; Promoting and developing studies, reflections and ideas on the employability and entrepreneurship matters to contribute to the development of public policies and actions that promote to improve the graduates’ employability and connections to the labour market

The workshop elected the Working Group to prepare for the Network Launching event scheduled to be held in late October 2020 in Hanoi.
