On July 17, University of Economics – the University of Danang (UD) in cooperation with the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, the Tay Nguyen University organized the 2020 National Scientific Conference on Finance and Banking (NCFB) with the theme “Banking and finance system with the socio – economic development of the Central and Highlands region in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution”.

The conference attracted more than 100 delegates, prestigious researchers and experts in related fields including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – the UD’s President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan – Rector of University of Economics – UD, leader represetatives of the State Bank of Vietnam and state authorities, commercial banks, researchers and lecturers from the Banking University of HCMC, University of Economics – UD, the University of Finance and Accountancy, the Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology – VNU HCMC, the Danang Architecture University, etc.

In her opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh – Vice Rector of University of Economics – UD, emphasized that this conference aimed to provide a scientific forum for universities, organizations, as well as researchers, experts to share their theoretical and practical research results, which contributes to the development of banking – finance system that meets the requirements of socio – economic development in the Central and Highlands region, especially in the context of globalization and the 4th Industrial Revolution.

At sub-committees (Academic and Applied), prestigious and experienced researchers and experts in banking – finance presented their scientific reports and works among which 56 articles were selected, reviewed and published in the conference proceedings. A number of new research topics and results were topical and practical, such as: the impact of finance – banking system on the region’s socio – economic development, the governance of banks and financial institutions in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution – Perspectives from the Central and Highlands region, etc.

The success of the DCFB-2020 vividly reflected the relationship between universities and state authorities, businesses, between theory and practice, between researchers and businessmen, partners. The conference brought about scientific values and experience in advising, reviewing management policies as well as improving the banking – finance system’s development, which actively contributed to the regional and national development in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
