Leaders of The University of Danang had an online meeting with Director of International Enrollment Partnerships, George Mason University, USA



On the morning of July 9, 2020, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) had an online meeting with Prof. Matthew Sacco - Director of International Enrollment Partnerships,  George Mason University, USA (GMU). Also attending the meeting were GMU Director of Project Vietnam Ms. Kim Viet Ngo and the leader representatives of UD's International Cooperation Department.

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Mr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of UD introduced to GMU representatives the highlights of UD that UD is the national key, multidisciplinary university with training potentials in almost all disciplines/ majors, key resources in many fields (technology, economics-business administration, natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, education, foreign languages-culture, medicine, etc.). UD provides human resources in high quality force for the Central-Highlands region as well as Vietnam. UD has a cooperative relationship with many prestigious universities in the United States (University of Arizona, University of Technology Texas, University of Portland, University of Catholics of America, etc.). The Vice President of UD acknowledged that the meeting was a good opportunity for the two sides to explore and exchange opportunities for cooperation in accordance with their potentials, strengths, needs and common interests.

Prof. Matthew Sacco - Director of GMU International Enrollment Partnerships has introduced general information about GMU as a large, multidisciplinary public university (approximately 37,000 students) of Virginia State. GMU's member universities include: College of Education and Human Development, College of Health and Human Services, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Science, College of Visual and Performing Arts, School of Business, School of Conflict Analysis and Resolution, Schar School of Policy and Government and Volgenau School of Engineering. In 2020, GMU is ranked among the top 251-300 universities in the world, top 180 US universities (according to the World University Rankings).

At the online meeting, the two sides exchanged and discussed cooperation proposals such as: Deploying the exchange programs for lecturers and students; Cooperating in training and scientific research in a number of fields specialized in Engineering-Technology, Natural Sciences (Mathematics), Business-Economics-Entrepreneurship, Communication, Education-Social Services, Medical-Health; Developing joint training programs in a number of specialties such as Engineering, Technology and Communication,  and Education-Social Services, etc.


The online meeting ended in an atmosphere of trust and understanding, the leaders of the two universities agreed on common orientations, acknowledged the cooperation proposals of each party, and at the same time delegated the relevant departments to continue discussing, deploying the specific cooperative activities for the mutual benefit of the two universities in the coming time.
