In the afternoon of May,3rd2013, The University of Danang (UD) welcomed the delegation of Kansai University of International Studies (KUIS) fromJapan, led byDr.Hamana Atsushi, Rector of KUIS.In the delegation, there was alsoAssoc.Prof. Abe Koji, DirectorInternational Affairs Center, KUIS .At UD’s side, there were Assoc. Prof. Tran Van Nam- President of UD, Dr. Tran Quang Hai – Vice Rector of University of Foreign Language Studies, Dr. Hoang Hai - Director of International Cooperation Department, Dr. Tang Thanh Mai – Director of Faculty of Japanese-Korean-Thai Languages and other relevant officers and cadres.
In the meeting, Dr.Hamana Atsushibriefly introduced about KUIS through an attached brochure. It is known that Kansai University is a private university located in Miki, Hyogo city, Japan. In 2009, it opened a campus in Amagasaki city between Kobe and Osaka. Especially, Mr. Hamana Atsushi also presented research cooperation programs that have been conducted between KUIS and other foreign universities. Besides, Dr. Hamana Atsushi also proudly shared that KUIS has some representative offices located in several Asia countries such as Shanghai, Beijing – China; Bangkok - Thailand; Taiwan.
Especially, he presented that KUIS has just won the scholarship program sponsored by Japanese government within 10 years. Therefore, Dr. Hamana Atsushi hopes that establishing a campus of KUIS at UD will be deployed soon. In the future, KUIS and UD will continue to cooperate to build up the Vietnam-Japan International University in Danang. Moreover, KUISwill willing to not only cooperate and support Vietnamese students in studying and researching at KUIS but also receive UD’s lecturers, doctoral students for training, studying and researching according to short-term or long-term courses.In addition, Dr. Hamana Atsushi also emphasized that KUIS will send their lecturers to teach at University of Foreign Language Studies, UD.
Dr. Tran Quang Hai acknowledged teaching and research proposals of Mr. Hamana Atsushi and expressed a desire to cooperate withKUIS.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Hamana Atsushiexpressed his thanks to UD and Universityof Foreign Language Studiesfor the warm welcome and hopes that cooperation programs in training and scientific research between the two universities will develop more than ever before.
