In the afternoon ofMay 06th, 2013, Assoc.Prof. Doan Quang Vinh, Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) had a meeting with the representative of Salo City-Finland to Vietnam. At the meeting, there was presence of Dr. Hoang Hai, director of UD’s International Cooperation Department and Mr. Le Viet Tuoi, deputy director of DanangCity’s Department of Industry and Trade.
The purpose of the visitof Salo City representative in Vietnam, Ms Mai Renko, is to learn the coordination of the 03 (three) partners the projects funded by Salo City, Finland. Ms. Mai Renco pointsout the projects made just after the visit of the Mayor of Salo City to DanangCity and signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in March 2011, which are projects "Yrityssalo - DOIT partnership", "Supporting Innovative Learning Environment", "Vietnam Export Network" and she also suggests UD to participate in the current and future projects. Assoc.Prof. Doan Quang Vinh shares his experiences of working with foreign partners such as France and Sweden and proposes several options of cooperation in the projects of Salo City with Danang City and the University of Danang as: providing training workshops on capacity building for Danang city officials and UD’s faculty will cooperate and coordinate in teaching (in the future UD’s lecturers will take 100% of teaching in that kind of workshops), or research projects of technology transfer in cooperation with UD’s colleges with Turku University of Applied Science, Finland. Thus the projects will be more efficient, more sustainable. Assoc.Prof. Doan Quang Vinh also expressed his desire to establish the Center for Education Quality Assurance beneficial not only to UD but also universities in Central Vietnam with the support of Salo City. Ms. Mai Renko suggested that a MoU for the coordination in further projects can be signed by the three parties: representatives of SaloCity, Danang Department of Industry and Trade and UD.
At the end ofthe meeting, representatives of the parties committed to have a closer coordination in conducting the projects with Salo City, Finland.
