The University of Danang honoured new Associate Professors, Doctors and held Lunar New Year Gathering (Year of the Ox – 2021)

On February 17, 2021, the University of Danang (UD) held a ceremony to honour new Associate Professors, Doctors and reward students who have achieved merit in scientific research.

The event drew the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – President of the UD; Prof. Dr. Bui Van Ga – former Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Training, former President of the UD; Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam – former President of the UD; leaders in the UD’s Party Committee, University Council, Board of Presidents; leader representatives from member universities’ Board of Rectors, Party Committee, University Council; leader representatives from the UD’s functional departments and affiliated units, and nearly 100 new Associate Professors, new Doctors and outstanding students in scientific research.

In his speech, the UD’s President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu sent his best wishes for health, happiness and success to all staff, lecturers and students. The UD’s President also reviewed the outstanding highlights of the UD in 2020, thereby acknowledging and praising efforts, wisdom and achievement of staff, lecturers and students in the past year.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu emphasized 6 key orientations and the UD’s slogan of 2021: “The year of focusing on improving the training quality for the goal of sustainable development”. Accordingly, the UD will continue implementing many synchronous measures to continuously improve the training quality, focusing on promoting the potentials, qualifications and capacity of lecturers.

“Today, the UD honours new Associate Professors and Doctors, considering them a valuable resource to create a driving force for university development in the new year and in the future”, the UD’s President stressed.

At the event, the UD honoured and congratulated 5 senior lecturers who qualified the Associate Professorship (recognized by the State Council of Professors), and 90 new Doctors (who successfully defended the thesis).

This year, many new Doctors were trained in prestigious foreign universities in France, Japan, Australia, UK, Canada, South Korea, etc.

On this occasion, the UD’s President presented certificates of merit to groups of lecturers-students who won the ministry-level Award for Students’ Scientific Research in the 2019-2020 academic year.
