The University of Danang’s students won the champion of the English Contest for students – Star Awards 2020

On November 8, the University of Danang (UD) hosted the final of the National English Contest for students “Star Awards 2020” which was organized by the UD’s Youth Union in collaboration with Youth Unions of Vietnam national universities, regional universities, key universities and the companionship of Wilmar CLV Group.

The final round drew the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the UD, Dr. Vu Thi Bich Hau – Deputy Director of Danang Department of Science and Technology, leader representatives from universities, businesses and about 500 students from universities across the country.

With the theme of Technovation (science and technology innovation), the Star Awards 2020’s final brought together 6 teams of students including: Futuristic Trio (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), TNU Green Engineers (Thai Nguyen University), DNA (the University of Danang), Stimili (Hue University), UE Fast (Vietnam National University, HCMC), and TNT (Can Tho University).

Outstandingly passing the fascinating and challenging rounds, DNA team of the UD (includes Le Huyen Tram of University of Economics and Luu Ngoc Bao Trang of University of Foreign Languages Studies) won the champion of the contest and received an award worth 40 million VND.

The 2nd prize belonged to TNT team with an award of 20 million VND, while the 3rd prize went to Futuristic Trio of VNU-Hanoi with an award of 15 million VND.

Star Awards 2020 is a playground to improve the quality of foreign language teaching and learning for students through developing English skills, raising awareness of students and young students about the benefits of learning foreign languages, cultivating socio – cultural knowledge in the course of international integration.

Starting from May 22, this year’s contest attracted the reponse and participation of more than 50,000 students from universities nationwide with 3 rounds of competition: Starship (online), Starlight (region), and Star Union (national final).
