University of Foreign Languages Studies – The University of Danang opened the Russian Culture Room and the Vietnamese Language and Culture Room for foreigners

On November 4, University of Foreign Languages Studies (UFLS) – The University of Danang (UD) opened the Russian Culture Room and the Vietnamese Language and Culture Room for foreigners.

The former event was a meaningful one to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of University of Foreign Languages Studies – UD as well as the Faculty of Russian Language (1985 – 2020), 70 years of diplomatic relations establishment between Vietnam and Russia.

At the opening ceremony, H.E. Evgeny Parshutkin – Deputy Consul General of Russia in Danang highly appreciated and congratulated UFLS on this occasion. “We are very pleased to witness the University’s Faculty of Russian Language continue to grow strongly. The interest in Russian culture and the number of students learning Russian is increasing”, he said.

On this occasion, the representative of the Russian Consulate General presented a CD set on Russian culture, history and some introductory books on the Far Eastern region of the Russian Federation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc – Rector of UFLS, affirmed the purposes and meanings of opening the Russian Culture Room right in the campus of the University, 131 Luong Nhu Hoc Street, Danang.

Rector Tran Huu Phuc believed the Room would create more spaces for staff members, lecturers, students as well as anyone who loves and is interested in Russia to exchange views, study and research the culture, country and people of Russia, thereby contributing to nurturing the precious traditional friendship between Vietnam and Russia.

On the same day, UFLS also opened the Vietnamese Language and Culture Room for foreigners at Room C205, 41 Le Duan, Danang which will become an interesting destination, a place to exchange, study and research Vietnamese culture for lecturers, students of the UFLS’s Faculty of International Studies as well as foreign scholars and students.
