Erasmus+ Digital Move Project Wrap-up Conference: Affirming UD’s international standing in building a sustainable university through Digital Transformation and Innovation
From January 15–16, 2026, the University of Danang (UD) hosted the Closing Conference of the Erasmus+ Digital Move Project under the European Commission’s support program for 2022–2026. The event brought together experts, scholars, and leaders from partner universities across the consortium under the theme “Shaping the Future of Sustainable Higher Education through Digital Transformation.”

According to the Organizing Committee, the Project aims to enhance the digital transformation capacity of universities, thereby fostering digital skills for staff, faculty, and students through innovative educational approaches and implementation roadmaps.
Project members include: UD (Vietnam); Université Côte d’Azur (France); the Technical University of Košice (Slovakia); and Mongolian partners including the CITI University—CITI Institute, Mongolian University of Life Sciences, Otoch Manramba University, and Erdenet Institute of Technology. Vietnamese partners also include: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho University, Nha Trang University, and Tay Nguyen University.

Speaking at the Conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Bac, Vice President of UD, emphasized that with more than half a century of development across its member institutions, UD is among Vietnam’s leading comprehensive centers of education and scientific research, with a large-scale training ecosystem (over 65,000 students/learners and doctoral candidates). UD plays a pivotal role in developing high-quality human resources to serve regional and national development.
With the achievements from the Erasmus+ Digital Move Project, UD has reaffirmed its strategic orientation to accelerate international integration and digital transformation, aligned with the goals of improving education quality and scientific research. UD continues to assert its active role and responsibility as a core member within the Project Network.

Digital transformation has become a key driver, keeping pace with emerging needs and trends—especially as UD and other universities strive to implement major policies of the Party and State concerning science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, and international integration. The resulting value contributes to enhancing university governance, as well as international competitiveness and connectivity in a truly “borderless knowledge” landscape.
UD extends sincere gratitude to the Project Coordination Team, the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme, and all partners for their support and collaboration. UD’s leadership affirmed the University’s commitment to remain a key, trusted, proactive, and responsible partner—building on the Project’s outcomes and value, and contributing actively to forthcoming international programs and projects.
Within the framework of the event, delegates heard and discussed two invited presentations: (1) “Digital Transformation at the University of Danang, Vietnam” (Dr. Tran The Vu, Deputy Director, UD-Viet Nam–UK Institute for Research and Executive Education); and (2) “Digital Transformation in Higher Education: Practical Experience from the Technical University of Košice, Slovakia” (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dana Paľova and Dr. Marianna Siničáková).

At the thematic sessions, delegates discussed and clarified the role of digital technologies and the need to develop digital competencies and skills, sharing experiences in university governance and digital transformation across countries.
Participants also conducted a comprehensive review of the Project’s objectives and outcomes, engaging in policy dialogue and proposing directions for post-Project cooperation in the 2026–2030 period.

By hosting the Closing Conference series of the Erasmus+ DIGITAL MOVE Project, UD has reinforced its position as a destination for prestigious academic events and as an active connector within international cooperation networks—advancing innovation and enhancing higher education quality toward sustainable development goals.
